It’s All About Our Patients

It isn’t a stretch to say that David Kleiman, M.D., and Anthony Evangelista, M.D., are passionate about exemplary patient care and have helped countless individuals see better. Patients come from throughout Texas, across the United States and around the world for their experience in Blade-Free LASIK, as well as customized laser surgery for cataracts and glaucoma. So when they began to outgrow their current Arlington facility, the surgeons envisioned an expansive state-of-the art eye center that is devoted to one goal.

“The new building isn’t a monument to our egos,” Dr. Kleiman said. “It’s all about our patients. This new facility allows us to take care of our patients in the best manner, to give them the best possible experience.”

The 28,000-square-foot facility is centrally located in Arlington along Interstate 20 across from the Highlands Shopping Center, just a few minutes from AT&T Stadium where the Dallas Cowboys huddle, and Globe Life Park, home field for the Texas Rangers.

“It’s very welcoming,” Dr. Evangelista said. “The way it is laid out is so intuitive, and the flow of the space is just wonderful.”

More rooms, less waiting

“The biggest complaint that I hear is about wait times—the amount of time patients wait in the doctor’s office compared to the amount of time they actually see a doctor or have tests done,” Dr. Kleiman admitted. “If someone is going to spend time at our office, we don’t want their time to be wasted. We want to be conscious of their time, and let them know we are working for them.”

This refreshing patient-first philosophy was the inspiration for the center’s design. A generous number of spacious exam and testing rooms means patients will be called within minutes of checking in at the front desk. A comfortable secondary waiting area with low lighting has been created especially for patients who must have their pupils dilated. Six rooms have been designated as private consultation spaces where patients can talk in a relaxed manner with their doctors about an upcoming procedure, or speak with an insurance counselor. All of the rooms are large enough so the patient’s loved one(s) can be with them during these conversations.

“I’m really looking forward to using these spaces because I like to talk to people,” Dr. Kleiman admitted. “I like to get to know people. So if I want to talk to a patient for 30 minutes to answer questions or explain a procedure, I don’t have to worry about keeping somebody else from getting an exam room.”

Taking technology to the next level

One-third of the new facility is dedicated to a brand new surgery center with four operating suites.

“There have been some huge advances in the past few years in the field of eye care. We are growing and instituting the latest equipment and technology to enhance safety and improve patient outcomes,” Dr. Evangelista explained. “Now multiple doctors can operate on the same day—giving patients greater flexibility regarding when they can have their procedures.”

The new Kleiman Evangelista Eye Centers will also be using proprietary new patient-navigation technology. It conveniently tracks each patient in the facility, letting loved ones know exactly where they are and what stage of the care process they are in at all times.

“They’ve thought of everything,” Cyndi Miller said.  She is the founder and chief executive officer of Miller Public Relations. “The laser suites, the cataract suites, the surgical center—they’re all state-of- the-art and exquisitely appointed. Patients are treated like royalty at Kleiman | Evangelista, and will find a distinctive experience from the moment they first call for an appointment through their final post-op visit.”

Of course, all the new amenities are complemented by a friendly and compassionate staff.

“There is a very important human component that we provide that helps ease a patient’s concerns,” Dr. Evangelista said. “We really care for our patients.”

Dr. Kleiman agreed, “Every one of our doctors has exceptional bedside manner, communicates well, is patient, and takes time to answer questions and allay fears. We have a team that understands the importance of treating patients with kindness and respect.”

Beginning in late January, patients can experience it all for themselves when the new Kleiman Evangelista Eye Centers, located at 350 East I-20, Arlington, TX 76018, officially opens its doors. Can’t wait until then? Schedule a consultation now.
