At Kleiman | Evangelista Eye Center, our surgeons are constantly researching new technologies and vision correction options to discover what they believe will be most beneficial to our patients.

That’s why we offer the advanced IntraLase iFS Femtosecond laser, to provide added speed, accuracy and predictability to your Blade-Free HD IntraLASIK procedure.

Kleiman Evangelista Eye Center is the first lasik practice in Tarrant County to offer the IntraLase iFS Femtosecond Laser, which is designed and developed by Advanced Medical Optics. Using this laser, our surgeons are able to customize the first step of the lasik procedure, the creation of the corneal flap.

In traditional Lasik, the corneal flap is created using a microkeratome blade. While traditional Lasik has long been an effective procedure, any of the rare complications that have occurred are often attributed to the creation of the corneal flap with the microkeratome.

With the IntraLase iFS Advanced Femtosecond Laser, your surgeon can provide a customized all-laser solution to this step of the procedure. Based on the measurements of your specific eyes, your Kleiman Evangelista Eye Center doctor will create the corneal flap with the IntraLase iFS laser to a pre-programmed depth, right down to the micron (1/100th the width of a human hair!)

Additional features and benefits of the IntraLase iFS Femtosecond Laser:

  • Increased control during corneal flap creation
  • Hi-res video microscope to capture digital images during the process
  • The iFS provides a higher-quality, smoother corneal surface upon which to perform the second step of LASIK, the reshaping of the cornea.
  • The reverse-beveled edge of the corneal flap, as created by the iFS, allows for a stronger healing of the corneal flap.
